Deerfield resident Joan Pavalon and her sister Jocelyn Weinzimmer of Chicago have created ARMigami, ‘The Shawl That Does Not Fall.’

Introducing ARMigami (armigami.com), a new multi-use wrap with more than 15 different style options, founded by two sisters, Joan Pavalon and Jocelyn Weinzimmer, with a slight obsession for wraps but who struggled with them always slipping out of place. Utilizing their creativity, sewing skills and a few strategically placed buttons, they soon found they had discovered more than just one use for their new shawl. Much like the Japanese art of origami, their wrap could be formed into multiple shapes and uses. So, a simple solution was born: ARMigami, “The Shawl That Does Not Fall.” ARMigami is available in select boutiques nationwide and online: armigami.com, $64 – $140.

Being two of 10 kids, Pavalon and Weinzimmer learned early on how to be creative with their clothes. However, the creation of ARMigami was a twist of fate that neither expected. Pavalon was in the throes of raising two teens and Weinzimmer was working as a fitness instructor when the idea of ARMigami came to them.

“Like most women, I always find the need to have an extra layer to put on or take off so that I can stay comfortable throughout the day yet still look fashionable. For me, a stylish pashmina was my go to daily accessory, but I was constantly annoyed with it slipping off my shoulder. I found myself using pins to keep the wrap in place. I turned to my youngest sister, Joan, who used her sewing skills to create buttons on my wrap. As we began to play with button placement and different materials, we realized how many different ways we could transform one wrap into the perfect accessory.” said Weinzimmer, Co-founder of ARMigami. “Soon, my sister Joan and I realized that we weren’t the only ones struggling with this problem, so why not be the solution. Based on a simple premise of having a shawl that does not fall, we founded ARMigami. Now we have a shawl that does it all!”

With more 15 + style options, numerous patterns and an affordable price tag, ARMigami offers endless style possibilities for women of all ages and body types. More than a shawl, it’s a scarf, sleeve, skirt, cover-up, top and more. From lightweight cotton blends to shimmering sequins, ARMigami features never-dull, goes-with-everything wraps that everyone from the frugal fashionista to the trendsetting stylist will see as a must-have item no matter the season.

The ARMigami sisters hand pick each and every fabric for their seasonal offerings ensuring a dynamic mix of rich, bold colors and patterns with intricate details not found with other wraps. Winter’s ‘Off-White Faux Cashmere is right on trend with Benjamin Moore’s 2016 ‘Simply White’ color of the year selection. For spring, they’ve sourced both bold, colorful patterns including the ‘Multi-Colored Crochet’ and lightweight, airy fabrics such as ‘Pink/Camel Ombre Sheer’ and ‘Black Stripe Lace.’ The everyday basics include stripes, denims and ribbed knits for a timeless look no matter the season.

Due to its patent pending design, ARMigami went from being not only the shawl that does not fall to the shawl that does it all. Go from the daywear to evening wear without changing clothes. As one of the most transformable accessories, ARMigami can easily enhance and dramatically change any outfit. Wear it to the beach as a cover-up, later that afternoon as a halter-top, then in the evening as an elegant wrap. Meant for every woman, this wrap can also been worn as maternity wear and later as a stylish nursing cover up than can be incorporated into your outfit. The style choices really are limitless.

ARMigami is for the woman on the go. Perfect for travel, running errands, hitting the beach, or for a night out, each wrap comes with its own pouch made of the same material that easily fits into medium sized purse. All wraps are made in Chicago, Illinois and available at www.armigami.com.
